So we’ve heard the rumours, there’s been some chatter… and the day we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. Instagram have unveiled today that their new Business Tools are set to launch over the coming months!
With over 400 million active accounts, businesses of all sizes are achieving great results on the visual platform, but with very little insights into how their content is performing.
The Facebook-owned company interviewed hundreds of business users to understand what elements of the Instagram experience needed to be enhanced –how to stand out from the crowd, better insights and how to attract new customers.
From this, they identified three main areas to create the new business tool suite:
Business profiles are a free feature that allows your account to be officially recognised as a business on Instagram, much like a Facebook business profile. As a business profile, you’ll have the ability to decide how customers get in touch (call, text or email) with the tap of a contact button as well as provide directions to your whereabouts. But most importantly, a business process will unlock access to insights and the ability to promote.
We’re talking actionable data here! You’ll be able to analyse information about who your followers are, which posts perform better than others – all from the comfort of the mobile app! The more you learn about your target audience and their behaviour, the better you can tailor your content to suit your customers’ needs.
Now this is a pretty cool feature – the ability to promote allows you to identify top performing posts and turn them into an ad – right within the app! Simply pick an existing post from your feed and add a call to action button, you can select a target audience or allow Instagram to take the reigns and pick it for you. After that, your post will be promoted as an ad for your desired length of time!
We don’t know about you, but the team at Social Media Servants is over the moon about this development! With these new business tools, we’ll gain greater insights into your audience; tailor your content strategy, which can be reflected in your overall digital strategy.
