How does your brand rank on Instagram?

Mashable have just published the lead Instagram ranking for the week of December 21-27, 2015 via Shareable.

They’ve offered an insight on 2015’s tops social posts across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The rankings were topped by Media Publisher; National Geographic, with over 32.5 million Instagram actions. Their top performing posts featured content from various contributors in locations from cities to the Arctic, and animals in their natural habitat.

The NBA ranked first for the most engaging content in the Sports League, with nearly 19.4 million actions. Top performers also included GoPro (Consumer Electronics) which saw a spike in engagement driven by their recent #GoProAwards campaign.

Victoria’s Secret (Fashion) had the second highest actions per post overall, averaging more than 283,000 thousand likes and comments per Instagram post during the week in review. The top performing content for the fashion brand included promoting holiday content using the hashtag #TisTheSecret, and post-Christmas sales, which garnered the most actions for Victoria’s Secret.

Comparing engagement from 2014 with how much these niche brands engaged audiences in 2015, the industries saw the following growth*:

  • Automotive: 86%
  • Consumer goods: 69%
  • Publishing: 58%
  • Professional Sports: 56%
  • Retail: 53%

*Each of these posts generated the most actions (likes, comments, shares and retweets) in their respective categories. Only posts from celebrities, athletes, world leaders and politicians were excluded.
