Have you ever asked yourself the question – what makes life worth living?
Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, the Hungarian psychologist who ‘recognised and named’ the concept of flow, believes that this operation of the mind is the key to happiness.
In this Ted video, Csikszentmihalyi looks to those who find pleasure and lasting satisfaction in activities that bring about a state of “flow”. He found that the tangible elements in life (money and everything that comes with it) won’t put you into flow and therefore won’t lead to happiness.
So what will lead you to happiness? Whatever puts you into flow.
And what will put you into flow? Check out our blog post on the book Grit by Angela Duckworth and you’ll see what this looks like.
Or, you could just watch the video below of Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi on TedTalks.
